YIELD TO RESISTANCE (2022)

Conceived as a series of one-off performance events, YIELD TO RESISTANCE was presented twice in Melbourne in 2022.

Referencing feminist activism, the work extends Sandra Parker’s examination of the relationships between bodies and subjects, regulation and control. Drawing on practices of occupations and sit-ins, the dancers inhabit the space across the entire event. YIELD TO RESISTANCE follows the full-length works Small Details and Adherence, continuing Parker’s examination of the strictures of choreographic form through the performance of a trio of dancers.
